Artist: David Howell
Title: The Beaters At Caradog (Wales)
Medium: Original Watercolour Image Size: 10" X 12"

David Howell, S.E.A; R.S.M.A
David Howell was born in 1939 and is based at his studio in North Yorkshire, England. His paintings are primarily of landscape and marine subjects, but he is also well known for his Equestrian racing pictures.
He works in watercolour, oils and pastels, and is a regular exhibitor at both national level and with regional galleries in the UK, USA, the Middle East and Australia and is the current President of the Royal Society of Marine Artists.
David's approach to painting is very much concerned with capturing atmosphere and a sense of time and place but above all he is concerned with producing good paintings rather than topographical accuracy.
He works outside as much as possible and over the years has travelled widely and he is still just as likely to be found sitting by a canal in Venice as dragging an easel through the Arabian desert.
His paintings hang in corporate and private collections in locations that vary from royal palaces in the Middle East to city boardrooms.

Biography: Simon Wright
Born in West Yorkshire in 1974. From as early as I can remember I have always been drawing and painting, and it's been my sole passion all my life. After gaining a degree as an illustrator, I began to realize I enjoyed more fine art painting as it didn't have the restraints of illustrative work. Through this I gained success painting animals, particularly dogs, I also started to do more portraiture work. In my work I try to bring the elements of illustration and fine art together to hopefully create a style which is totally unique and appeals to a varied audience. I enjy working from realistic to abstract and everything in between. I work predominantly in oils and acrylic. I am always grateful that I am able to make a living out of my love of painting.

The artist Roger Simpson paints in a loose, free and lively manner, he creates paintings which seem to be in demand at galleries and exhibitions all over Yorkshire and beyond. Read more about the artist here The artist loves painting in watercolour and paints almost everyday, although he has drawn and painted most of his life it was only around seven years ago that he started to paint seriously in watercolour and hasn't looked back since.
He has won various awards like best artist in show, Art commendations etc, he has also shown his work at the Mall galleries and the Menier gallery in London. He paints a lot of horse paintings which he is very popular for and shows at various exhibitions throughout the year in Yorkshire.
His inspiration mainly comes from practice and experimentation but also from other watercolour artists who show flair and who aren't afraid to do something different. I think it was Picasso who said that an artist doesn't take from other artists he steals!...we all learn from each other but our creative self comes out in our paintings.
